Wedge wire well screens are usually attached to the bottom of the casing, if pumps water from a sand-gravel aquifer. The wedge wire well screens are extend into the aquifer and allow water to move through the gap, while preventing sand and gravel from entering the water well.
The water wells completed with gravel pack is the best way for sand control. In the processing, sand or gravel is placed outside the wedge wire screen, between the screen and the bore hole wall, that better to prevents fine sediment from entering the screen and also promotes water move into the well.

Basic information for wedge wire screen
Profile Wire(A*H) also known as wedge wire, V-wire, Tri-wire or surface profiles, it allows a high level of precision and efficiency in screening applications. The wedge shape of Profile Wires provides a large opening (conical slots in case of V-shaped profile wires) for material to flow between the wires.
Profile wires increase screening efficiency by substantially reducing blinding and pegging.
Slot Size (S)
It means the clear distance between any two adjacent profile wires.
Slot size is controlled very accurately as it forms the slot through which the filtrate flows.
Support Rod(A1*H1)
It is also known as support profiles, onto which surface profiles are resistance welded.
Support rod includes triangle wire, round bar, flat bar and wedge wire.
Support Rod Distance(P)
It means the clear distance between any two adjacent support rods.
