1. What is Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) accelerates the body's natural healing process by increasing the amount of oxygen in the blood. Treatment takes place in a sealed chamber where oxygen and pressure are steadily increased.
2.How can HBOT help people?
The definitive treatment for DCS is hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or the delivery of pure oxygen at a pressure substantially higher than that of atmospheri pressure. HBOT reduces the size of any bubbles and improves gradients which promote oxygen delivery and inert gas elimination.
3. How long is the treatment?
Treatment usually are 60-90 minutes per session, 5-7 Times per week.
4.Is HBOT safe?
While it's generally very safe, as with all medical treatments, Hyperbaric Oxygen THerapy carries with it the risk of complications that in rate instances can be life threatening and/or result in permanent or long-term disability. Barotrauma is a term that refers to injury due to increased pressure.
