PVA Applications:

PVA is mainly used as sizing agent for textile and finishing agent for Fabrics

PVA is mainly mixed with starch or acrylic acid while used as textile sizing agent due to its good miscibility with each other.And generally PVA has the follwing advantages as textile sizing agent;good film-forming property with good flexibility and elasticity to facilitate lease operation;good resistance to wear and good permeability and adhesiveness to feather and hair;hydrophilicity to render good compatibility with cotton,polyester and other fibers;readiness to desizing(the sizing agent is easy to be removed from fabrics in boiling water with the effect of a small amount of oxidant,and can be biodegraded quickly,so is environmentally friendly).Partially hydrolyzed PVA has higher affinity with hydrophobic fibers and especially suitable for the sizing of cotton,hemp,polyester and high count yarn.

The textile sizing agent PVA has the following characteris:quick dissolution;high concentration,low viscosity(its viscosity is comparable to that of the mixture which is blended with 30% PVA805 and 70% PVA927),Softness of film to facilitate second lease without damaging the interface of yarn and avoid reoccurrence of fluff;good permeability to ease sizing operation and improve yarn resistance to wear;unlikeliness to crusting even in winter season;low hygroscopicity and low odds of re-bonding to improve antistatic property under low humidity condition and enhance weaving efficiency for less pilling possibility;easiness for desizing operation;rightness for high pressure sizing process with high concentration and low viscosity;and suitability for sizing fine count high density fabrics and cotton /polyester yarn with high polyester content.

Usage and dosage:Textile PVA is low faoming product,However it may foam in dissolving process due to its low degree of hydrrolysis.So it is recommended to soak it for 20-30 minutes before dissolution and lower the speed for agitation and heating .and suitable amount of de-foaming agent should be added in if necessary.
