Ⅰ. Specifications Carrot seed oil, known as "base oil" in aromatherapy, is distilled from wild carrots. However, it is possible to distill essential oil from common edible carrots. The stems and leaves of these two varieties are quite similar, except that the tissue of wild carrot is thicker and the root is not edible. Its stem has purple heart and white flowers. The whole plant can distill essential oil, which is mainly produced in Europe, some from Egypt and India.
