Remarks:
All varnishes listed above are suitable for overprinting offset inks. However, if those inks contain to many wax or other slip additives, adhesion problems may arise. Some offset inks contain pigments that start "bleeding" or change colour when overprinted with UV varnishes.
Be sure that the offset work is sufficient dried (24 hours) before overprinting with UV screen varnish. Overprinting on wet offset inks, will result in poor adhesion of the UV varnish.
Therefore, it is strong advisable to always carry out a print test prior to the actual print job.
Drying:
All varnishes are dried using 1 medium-pressure mercury discharge lamp of 120 W/cm in a normal atmosphere. The curing depends on the kind of UV curing unit ( reflectors ), number, age and power of the UV lamps, the layerthickness and the belt speed of the UV curing unit.
In certain cases the ink's flow and gloss can be improved by passing the prints under IR lamps prior to UV-curing.
