WHAT IS MAGNECTIC INDUCTION?

Magnectic Induction relies on the unique characteristics of radio frequency (RF) energy – that portion of the electromagnetic spectrum below infrared and microwave energy. When an alternating electrical current (AC) is passed through the primary coil of a transformer (in the case of the Harver geyser the outside clip-on electromagnetic power generators located on either sides of the geyser) then, according to Faraday’s law, an alternating magnetic field is created which in turn will induce circulating eddy currents in the secondary coil of the transformer if located within this magnetic field (in the case of the Harver geyser the heating coil and tank sides).

Although these eddy currents flow against the electrical resistivity of the metal – Joule’s first law - it does so at frequencies of between 100 to 400 kHz (on average 4000 times higher than the conventional resistive element operating at 50 Hz) and generates precise and localized heat faster and more efficiently than a conventional resistive type geyser.

HOW ARE WE ECO-FRIENDLY?

Our water heaters employ the princliple of electromagnetic induction as stated above to generate our heat, this uses less electricity than the standard resitive element therefore we reduce the power usage of one of the largest consuming electrical components in the standard household.

WHY ARE WE SAFE?

Unlike a common resistive-element geyser where electricity (230V AC) runs directly through the geyser to the element our geysers employ a system of magnetic induction where there is no connection between the generator unit and the tank. Our geysers do employ the use of an element as an aid in heating but the element is powered using Eddy-current which is non-lethal to humans as apposed to Alternating Current (AC) which is highly dangerous.

With reference to the attached Technical Specifications the power usage of the standard 50L 2KW electric water heater and the Qianchong 50L 2kw induction water heater are calculated and tabulated below:
