Kingpin Instruction:
The function of the Kingpin is to engage the semi-trailer to the fifth wheel. The kingpin is the most critical component used in the load transfer from semi-trailer.
1. Making a selection:
The D-Value and the thickness of the welding plate are two considerations in making a kingpin selection for a semi-trailer design. The actual D-Value of the selected kingpin must be larger than the calculated D-Value. Then determine the thickness of the skid plate.
2. Kingpin Installation:
Welding on a channel support for the 2 inch welded kinpin, must be more than 110mm between welds.
3. Kingpin Operation:
Operation of the semi-trailer will cause normal wear on the kingpin due to abrasion. The following are the limits of wear allowable:
2" Kingpin: A≥49mm B≥71mm;
3.5" Kingpin: C≥86mm D≥112mm;
Container Lock Description:
Designed to secure ISO containers and special containers to rigids, skeletal and platform vehicles and chassis. Allows non-containerised loads to be carried.Can be engaged and lowered with the container in place.Twistlock stem locks in both locked and unlocked positions.Screwdown facility ensures safety for loads during transportation.Simple one hand operation.Fitted with large diameter nut for ease of operation. Nut can be secured with latch for extra safety.Meets AAR requirements.Dimensionally compatible with ISO corner castings and aperture plates.
Material and Processing:
1.Pin knob is 35mm and 50mm Drop Forged, CNC machined.
2.Spacer, Twist Handel and Nut is Ductile iron cast and CNC machined.
3.Spring Steel clip to hold the retractable nut.
5.Spray Painted.
4.Fabrication Body made of Mild Steel. (Weldable to Trailer Chassis).
