Applications 

The polyethylene anti-corrosion adhesive tape is composed of the anti-corrosion tape (inner tape), protective tape (outer tape), joint tape and primer. The adhesive tape is a strip-like anti-corrosion material made of polyethylene base film thermally applied and co-extruded with an adhesive layer with butyl rubber as the main composition. It is characterized by good insulation, excellent corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength, collision resistance, aging resistance, low water absorption, convenient construction, safety and health, wide application range, long service life, etc. Due to its high effectiveness and long service life, it is widely applied in external corrosion prevention for metal pipes of various pipeline projects and facilities of the petroleum, natural gas, petrochemical engineering, electric power, and metallurgy industries, urban gas pipe networks and water supply pipes etc. It also applies to the external corrosion prevention for buried and overhead metal pipelines in petrochemical, natural gas, coal projects, etc.

Main Technical Indicators

(1) Remove rust, weld, burr, oil stains, and dry. Manual rust removal shall reach level St3. Mechanical rust removal shall conform to level Sa2 as stipulated in SYJ 4007-86.

(2) The time interval between steel pipe surface pretreatment (manual or mechanical) and primer painting should be controlled within 6 hours. The surface of steel pipe must be dry and dust-free.

(3) The primer surface can be wrapped after tack-free for about 2-3 minutes. The wrapping should meet the requirements for the grade and structure of anti-corrosion coating.

(4) The pipe can only be put to the ditch and back filled when the EDM detection result is acceptable.
