One component polyurethane joint sealant is a durable elasticity moisture curing polyurethane polymer based road joint filling material. It is widely applied in filling road joints for the excellent properties and easy application.

l Application Points

1.Surface Preparation Clean all surfaces. Joint walls must be sound, clean,dry, frost-free, and free of oil and grease. Curing compound residues and any other foreign matter must be thoroughly removed. A mechanically roughened surface will also enhance bond.

2.For green concrete applications control joints must be cut 8 hours (min.) prior to sealant installation and expansion joint forms must be removed 4 hours (min.) prior to sealant installation.

3.For wet concrete applications all excess or standing water must be displaced and concrete must then dry for a minimum of 60 min prior to sealant installation. Install bond breaker tape or backer rod to prevent bond at base of joint.

4.Priming is not usually necessary. Substrates only require priming if testing indicates a need or where sealant will be subjected to water immersion after cure. Consult Sikaflex Primer Technical Data Sheet or Technical Service for additional information on priming.

l Application methods

1. Construction joint cutting: use the cutting machine to cut construction joint according to the designing and Programming, clean the dust and debris in the joint by the tools such as blower, brush and shovel knife. And make joint be dry completely

2. Backer rod installation: slightly install the polyethylene strip backer rod which the size should be larger than the construction joint, depth designed according to the application condition.

3. Application:

      Sausage Packing

      a.Clip the end of the sausage and place in barrel gun
      b.Screw end cap and nozzle on to barrel gun
      c.Using the trigger extrude the sealant with equal strength

4. Reserve gap: the construction joint will be expanding or contracting with the changing temperature, therefore, after application, the sealant should be installed lower than the concrete surface. 2-3mm in summer, 1-2mm in winter

5. Curing to tack free time, about 6 hours in summer ,12 hours in winter .

l Attention of operation

1. The sealant should be guaranteed in the warranty period before application.

 2. This product non-toxic after curing completely, but before curing, please keep it away from eyes and  skin. If touch it with eyes and skin, wash immediately and thoroughly with soap and water. If feel uncomfortable, please go to hospital timely.

 Products Limitation:

1. When overcoating with water, oil and rubber bassed paints, compatibility and adhesion testing is essential.

2.In joints subject to movement - maximum depth of sealant must not exceed 1/2 in.; minimum depth is 1/4 in.

3.Minimum depth of sealant for horizontal joints subject to traffic is 1/2 in.

4.Maximum expansion and contraction should not exceed 25% of average joint width.

5.Do not cure in the presence of curing silicone sealants.

6.Avoid contact with alcohol and other solvent cleaners during cure.

7.Do not apply when moisture-vapor transmission condition exists from the substrate as this can cause bubbling within the sealant.

8.Use opened packages in the same day.

9.The ultimate performance of our pu sealants depends on good joint design and proper application with joint surfaces properly prepared.

10.Do not use in contact with bituminous /asphaltic materials.

11.In green concrete applications sealing joints in poor or low strength concrete 24 hours after pour may impact abil-ity of sealant to gain proper adhesion.

12.In damp concrete applications all standing water and excess water must be eliminated prior to the 60 minute waiting time.
