Carbomer, also known as carbomer, is an acrylic cross-linked resin obtained by cross-linking pentaerythritol and acrylic acid. It is a very important rheology modifier. The neutralized carbomer is an excellent gel matrix. It has important purposes such as thickening and suspension, simple process and good stability, and is widely used in lotions, creams, and gels. Carbo is the signature dish of Nuoyu Company (formerly known as the American Gullied Company, one of the oldest companies in the United States). Its products include Carbopol series rheology modifiers and Pemulen series polymer emulsifiers.
Carbomer can produce high-efficiency thickening at a very low dosage (normal dosage 0.25-0.5%), thereby preparing emulsions, creams, gels and transdermal preparations with a wide range of viscosity and different rheology.
"Carbomer" is a crosslinked acrylic polymer containing polyalkenyl polyether. Although these resins are weakly acidic and weaker than acetic acid, they can easily react to form salts. The pH value in water varies between 2.8 and 3.2 depending on the resin concentration. The higher the concentration, the higher the carboxyl concentration, so the PH value is lower.
