Artemia cysts (brine shrimp) is packed in either 425g vacuum sealed cans, 12-cans per case. Also available in vacuum sealed 7.5kg pails. Artemia cysts (brine shrimp) are stored in bulk, airtight drums under cold storage conditions (4 degrees C). Allotments and orders are tested for quality before packaging. Our quality control standards insure that the products are guaranteed fresh and meet our hatching percentage specifications. 1.HATCHING CONTAINER: Preferably use a container with a conical bottom. 2.AERATION: Add strong continuous aeration to the bottom of hatching container through airstones. 3.EGG DENSITY: Use no more than 2 grams/liter. 4.TEMPERATURE: Ideally between 25~30°C. 5.SALINITY: Preferably use 15 ppt(part per thousand), 10~40 ppt. is acceptable. 6.ILLUMINATION: A strong fluorescent or incandescent light. 7.pH: pH should be maintained >8. If pH drops below 7.5, sodium bicarbonate should be added into the water to increase the pH to 8. 8.HATCHING TIME: Brine shrimp nauplii should be hatched out about 18~24 hours. 9.COLLECTING NAUPLII: Stop aeration and cover the top of the hatching container from the light. Wait for 10~15 minutes. Most nauplii will sink to the conical bottom of the time.Collect nauplii from the bottom drainage (if available) or through siphoning. Rinse well with minimum mechanical harm before feeding. 10.STORAGE CONDITIONS: Opened and unopened cans should be stored in a cool dry location, preferably stored below 4°C. |
