Lapsang Souchong originates from the Tongmu Village, Wuyi Mountain in Fujian, China. The Fukienese word 'souchong' literally means 'little variety' or subvariety. Lapsang Souchon has had a long history behind it. With more than 400 years of history, it was said that it was the world’s first black tea.
The totally hand-made unsmoked Lapsang Souchong Black Tea was made with the tealeaves harvested from the Tong Mu Guan, the core Lapsang Souchong producing area as well as a Chinese national nature reserve, while it hasn't been dried with smoldering pine fire so it is mellow, sweet and flowery but not so smoky like the traditional types. The unsmoked Lapsang Souchong is a perfect choice for those who wish to try Lapsang Souchong while don't like its strong smoky taste.

Speciality:
Our Organic Lapsang Souchong Black Tea with no smoke aroma was harvested from naturally grown Bohea tea bushes at an altitude of 1400 meters in the Wuyi Mountains of Northern Fujian which are considered to be the birthplace of the first Chinese black tea, Lapsang Souchong. This Organic Lapsang Souchong Black Tea has been crafted and processed almost entirely by hand into a Lapsang Souchong tea with an exquisite flavor.
Called Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong in China, this tea is not pine smoked so it is mellow, sweet and flowery but not so smoky like the traditional types. Our Lapsang Souchong is a pure non-smoked black tea. The plump dark and curly leaves offer a beautiful dried-longan aroma. Once brewed, the bright amber liquid it produces is full-bodied, smooth and oily with fruity taste and aroma reminiscent of currents and candied wild figs. The unsmoked Lapsang Souchon black tea, which carries a powerful aroma and gives a strong fruity flavour in the cup, is a perfect choice for those who wish to try Lapsang Souchon while don't like its strong smoky taste.
Unlike many other tea-producing areas in China, the tea trees here in the Wuyi Mountain Scenic Preserve of Fujian Province of south eastern China are not cultivated in the plantation style. They are allowed to grow naturally wild in spacious groves (making them more difficult to pick), ranging in age from a several years old to more than 100 years old, and elevations around 2500-3200 feet. This growing zone is strictly protected by the government, so absolutely no chemicals or pesticides are used.
Lapsang Souchong is rich in caffeine and tea polyphenols. Drinking it has the effect of refreshing and relieving sleepiness. Lapsang Souchong is a fully fermented tea, and it is rich in thearubigen and other mineral substances, which can promote digestion and warm up the stomach. .
