 Lead Glass is a Silica type, of high quality optical grade with over 60 percent heavy metal oxide, including at least 55 percent PbO. The compositions consist of ZF3 : 63% Lead silicate, 33% quartz sand, 0.5% potassium nitrate , 0.25% Antimony Oxide and other additives is about 3.25%. The compositions consist of ZF6: 65.06  % Lead silicate, 30.92% quartz sand, 1.4% potassium nitrate , 1.42% Antimony Oxide and other additives is about 1.2%.

Lead glass has a number of uses, primarily in the medical industry. It provides full radiation protection but is transparent and easy to see through for observation purposes.
