304 is the basic metal alloy ,and unless otherwise specified it is assumed that this type is acceptable, also to be called 18-8 due to 18% chromium and 8% nickel. T304 melts at 2600 degrees F(1430 C) but its maximum recommended temperature for continuous service is 1450 degrees F(790 C) and is used for intermediate service up to 1650 degrees F(900 C). its uses including: sorting and screening of abrasives, liquids, powders and other solids , it is the less expensive alloy but not as corrosion resistance as T316, it is the stronger of the two types.
Stainless steel wire mesh contains chromium and nickel in addition to steel. It is non magnetic in the annealed condition. After stainless steel has been woven , it may become slightly magnetic due to cold working.

Plain Weave: Each weft wire passes over one and under one warp wire, and each warp wire passes over one and under one weft wire, every weft wire have and warp wire the same diameter.
Characteristics: square aperture, high flow through, relative high open area, as result less pressure drop during filtration suitable for all kinds of filtration up to 63 um.
Twill: Wire Cloth in which each warp wire and each shute wire passes successively over and under the two adjacent wires -- in both the warp and shute directions. This over and under movement is shifted one wire with each pass of the shuttle. This pattern permits the weaving of heavier wires in varying meshes.
Characteristics: square aperture, less rigid than plain weave, especially suitable for deforming, strong wire cloth due to ratio of wire diameter and aperture, it is mostly used for filtration less than 63um.
Plain Dutch Weave: Similar interlacing as in Plain Weave, except the warp wires are larger diameter than the shute wires. The lighter shute wires are driven up close thus forming a dense filtering medium. This weave displays a tapered or wedge-shaped opening.
Characteristics: "zero"—aperture, more solid than square or rectangular mesh, relative high open area, suitable for all kinds of filtration.
Twill Dutch: This filter cloth specification technically combines the Twill Weave and Dutch Weave described above. The larger diameter warp wires successively pass over and under the lighter diameter shute wires. Each pass of the shute wires shifts the over and under movement one wire. The shute wires are driven up close, resulting in a tightly woven filter cloth with tapered or wedge shaped openings.
Characteristics: "zero" aperture, light-proof woven, high resistance due to tight wire position, extreme low absolute grade of fineness (down to 5-6um), high filtration performance in case of low viscose medium, it is the finest filtration in hydraulic systems, especially for critical applications as aero-space, fuel-and combustion.
