PBAT is mainly made from oil which is biodegradable(sounds odd), PLA is made from starch, mainly corn starch. So the Biodegradable & Compostable bag sometimes is called (corn) starch bags. These bags comply with American ASTM D-6400 standard , European EN13432 standard, and Australian AS-4736 standard. These bags will be 100% biodegraded in composting condition, turning the bag into carbon dioxide, water and biomass.
