Moving bed biofilm reactor(referred to as MBBR) is a kind of new and highly efficient biofilm reactor, which is developed based on the biological contact oxidation process and activated sludge process, has been widely used in wastewater treatment. It has high treatment efficiency, strong load-bearing capacity, long sludge age, less residual sludge, good effect of denitrification and phosphorous removal and no sludge expansion.
Bio filter media is a new activated biological carrier as core component of MBBR process. It has the advantages of good hydrophilicity and quick film formation, large specific surface area and high biomass, appropriate specific gravity and good fluidization effect, high oxygen utilization efficiency and long service life, to ensure the effective operation of the MBBR process.
