Homopolymer delrin pom have good ductility and fatigue resistance, but they are not easy to process. Copolymer delrin pom have good thermal and chemical stability and are easy to process. Both homopolymer delrin pom and copolymer materials are crystalline materials and do not easily absorb moisture. The high degree of crystallization of pom plastic raw material results in a relatively high shrinkage rate, which can be as high as 2% to 3.5%. There are different shrinkage rates for different reinforced pom plastic raw material materials.
delrin pom has high strength and rigidity, good elasticity, and good wear resistance. Its mechanical properties are excellent, the specific strength can reach 50.5MPa, and the specific stiffness can reach 2650MPa, which is very close to metal. The mechanical properties of pom plastic raw material change little with temperature, and the change of copolymerized POM is slightly larger than that of homopolymerized POM. The impact strength of POM is higher, but the conventional impact is less than that of ABS and PC; pom plastic raw material is sensitive to notches, and the notch can reduce the impact strength by as much as 90%. The fatigue strength of delrin pom is very outstanding. After 10 alternating loads, the fatigue strength can reach 35MPa, while PA and PC are only 28MPa. The creep property of POM is similar to that of PA, only 2.3% at 20℃, 21MPa, 3000h, and it is not affected by temperature. POM has a small friction factor, good wear resistance (POM>PA66>PA6>ABS>HPVC>PS>PC), a large limit PV value, and good self-lubrication. POM products are prone to squeal-like noise when grinding and high load.
