Measuring principle
Guided wave radar is a measuring instrument based on the principle of time travel. Radar waves move at the speed of light, and the travel time can be translated by electronic components into a signal of an object's position. The probe emits high-frequency pulses transmitted along a cable or rod probe. When the pulse hits the surface of an object, it is reflected back and picked up by a receiver in the meter, which converts the distance signal into a signal of the object's position.

The radar level meter uses a transmission frequency of up to 26GHz, thus having:
