Construction:

 

Extremely flexible due to the high number of fine strands making up this cable. Can be used continuously at temperatures up to 200 degrees C (392 degrees F) Resistant to many solvents / lubricants / chemicals etc. Max working voltage 3500V.

The cable is capable of withstanding short surges of several times these ratings. 

As an idea of what size is used for what, here is a guide to what we use it for:

 

10AWG - Big lipos >5,000mAh

12AWG - Big lipos >3,300mAh, biggest that will fit 4mm bullets,  etc.

14AWG - Most common, used on SubC NiMH packs, lipos >2,000mAh, motors etc.

16AWG - Airsoft mini batteries, Lipos >1300mAh

18AWG - AA power packs, Lipos >1,000mAh

20AWG - Small power packs, thickest wire that will fit JST connector, Mini-T connectors etc.

22AWG - Receiver batteries, commonly used for Futaba, JST etc connectors, LED & low power lighting

24AWG - Light weight receiver batteries, LED lighting.

• Weathering resistance: Silicone rubber cables have excellent resistance to ozone, UV light, radiation, arcing , and will remain relatively unaffected even after long term exposure to extreme weathering conditions.
• Low specific gravity: The low specific gravity of silicone rubber ensures that a silicone rubber insulated cable is lighter than its equivalent plastic or a normal rubber cable.
• Silicone rubbers are extremely inert: Silicone rubber will not support fungal or bacterial growth and, for this reason, is ideally suited to food and medical applications.
• Specially formulated compounds have been developed to further improve the flame retardant characteristics of silicone rubber cables ensuring they will meet all recognised vital flame tests.
• Non conductive ash: Capable of working through and after intense fire, the silicone will ultimately decompose to a brittle Silica ash - which has excellent dielectric characteristics in its own right.

Containment of the brittle ash by use of a glass braid sheath for example will ensure continued performance of the cable even under such extreme conditions

 

• The silicone rubber cable would need to be replaced following such an intense fire, for safety and performance reasons.

1) 20AWG Style wire.

Good cables. Important for me was the ability to be able to cut, bend, crimp or solder them in any way I want. I can do this with these ones

Good for Soft Wire Usage

The wire is not stiff. It is soft. It appears to be of good quality. It is easy to strip using a wire stripper. The strands are tinned. I needed something that was a little bit harder for making circuit board fly-wire. After stripping the wire, do not remove the stripped insulation. Instead roll it slowly as you pull it out. This will twist the exposed strands. Then tin the twisted strands. Then you can easily stick it into the holes in a circuit board. Good product. The package was by roll packing.

3)18AWG style wires:

I bought the 18 AWG wire. It is very flexible and can easily handle a 15A current without heating up. The silicone covering begins to melt at around 400 F. It works very well for my high-power LED application.

 4)16AWG style wires:

I just needed more amount of wire, and I appreciate using the correct color coding for my wiring projects on my vehicles. This wire was more than enough, and the silicone feels much higher quality than your run of the mill PVC insulation. It stripped very easily, and the wires inside didn't come off with the insulation like some other cheaper wiring I've used. I didn't have to do a ton of soldering with it, but there were no problems there, and the added flexibility of the silicone made running the wire a bit easier than the stiffer PVC stuff.

5) 14AWG style wires:

I'm no cable connoisseur, but being an average techie I've had my hands on plenty of them. So I was pretty surprised when I received these and felt the insulation. I've never felt it necessary to use the word "supple" before, but I think the time has finally arrived. The only other word that comes to mind is "sexy." It's just so soft and smooth you want to get a big pile to smoosh your face in.

6) 12AWG style wires:

This is copper wire that is pre-tinned. A few other people claimed that it was aluminum, but I’ve bought this stuff a few times now, and have been very pleased with the overall quality.

Maybe because the wire strands is small, and closely wound, it gives the appearance of aluminum or CCA wire, but for sure it is tinned copper. The silicone is very nice and flexible too. I use this wire for 1/10 scale RC cars, batteries, etc.

7) 10AWG style wires:

True to size! Very flexible! Durable jacket that still bends as needed. Correct sized, compared to crappy alternatives. In the photo, both were supposedly the same size.

This wire was absolutely true to size and worked better than any big-name audio wire I have ever used. It was easy to snake through the car and the jacket was very solid when pulling it through the car.

8)8AWG style wires:

I bought this lump of wire to cut up and use in a set of four mobile solar LTE camera hot spot devices that I deploy on jobs across the state without shore power. This wire fits great in to the industry standard connectors and holds up very well.
