Turpentine is one of the essential oils and is by far the most productive. PinusmassonianaLamb and PinustabulaeformisCarr from PinusmassonianaLamb and PinustabulaeformisCarr. An aromatic volatile oil obtained by distillation or extraction from an oil resin exuded from the wood of plants of the same genus. It is composed of a mixture of hydrocarbons, which contain a large number of terpenes. According to different sources of raw materials, there are four kinds of turpentine: fat turpentine, wood turpentine, sulphate turpentine, Chemicalbook and dry distillation turpentine.
(1) collect cut rosin with steam or other methods of distillation of liquid oil, called turpentine.
(2) with organic solvent extraction of wood, the extraction solution, the first distillation of the solvent, and then to steam distillation, can get wood turpentine oil (extraction turpentine).
(3) With pine as the main raw material, sulfate pulp method, cooking wood chips out of the mixed gas, condensation and separation, to get crude sulfate turpentine, distillation after the net system to get sulfate turpentine.
(4)The turpentine obtained from the distillation of mingzi is called the distillation of turpentine oil.

Turpentine is widely used as chemical raw material, and it is widely used in art glass, paint, camphor manufacturing, pharmaceutical, rosin manufacturing and other industries.
Turpentine is an excellent solvent and has a strong ability to dissolve organic matter. It is traditionally used in painting, drying agent, ointment, shoe polish, adhesive and medicine, etc.
Many new products in synthetic chemicals and fragrances have been developed by reprocessing the main components of turpentine. (1) Synthesis of terpinol: When catalyzed by sulfuric acid, -terpinol can easily be ring-opened and hydrated to produce hydrated terpene diol. When hydrated to dilute acid, 1 molecule of water is removed to produce terpene alcohol mixture. The main components are -terpinol (see pinpinol and pinoil). (2) Synthetic camphor: Under the action of titanium dioxide, camphene isomerization generates camphene. Camphene reacts with formic acid or glacial acetic acid to form isobornate, which is hydrolyzed to isobornate. And then dehydrogenation to synthetic camphor. (3) Linalool: Alpha-pinene is hydrogenated to produce pinane, pinane is oxidized to peroxide by air, and then reduced to produce pinanol. After heat cracking, linalool is a large variety of Chemicalbook perfume, and also an intermediate in the synthesis of vitamin E. Linalool and other esters can be obtained after esterification. (4) -pinene was pyrolyzed into laurene, which is the largest aromatic intermediate. Geraniol, nerosanol, neolinaldehyde, capanilaldehyde, longsialone with ambergris and woody aroma, dicycloenonitril and linolactone with strong animal aroma can be prepared from lauroyl. Linalool acetate can be obtained from the reaction of laurene with sodium acetate after hydrochlorination. (5) Chinese pinus massoniana turpentine contains more sesquiterpenes longytene and caryophyllene. Under the catalysis of acid, alkenes can be isoalkenes, which is the raw material of iso-alkenes, epoxy iso-alkenes, hydroxymethyl iso-alkenes acetate, etc., all of which have woody fragrance. Longytene was treated with formic acid to produce woody - scented formic ester. Acetylene can be obtained by acetylation of caryophyllene
