Winery

Manual harvesting, maceration with the skins for 20 days at a temperature of about 26° C, it completes malolactic fermentation before winter. During spring, it goes into oak barrels of 25 hl and it remains there for a period of at least 12 months, then another year in stainless steel tanks.

The history of the Moscone family began in 1877 with the birth of Giacinto who start his successful activity as a producer in Monforte d'Alba, focusing on the quality of the land and the most suitable vines for the region. After his death, his son Angelo succeeds him and will continue the business with his family, improving the quality of Moscone wine by exploiting the excellent quality of the land and vines. A choice that with time and the right dedication bears fruit and allows the family to inherit a real treasure, one to nurture and share with passion and tradition.

Love for our land

Langhe, the unique wine-making region, characterised by hills and medieval villages, declared as a World Heritage site in 2014. An important recognition that honours a region rich in history and places of outstanding natural beauty. The roads that cross the “Langa del Barolo” lead to Monforte d’Alba, one of the municipalities of the Barolo DOCG wine production area.

Each vineyard is different from the adjacent one in terms of structure, composition, exposure, altitude, microclimate and is diligently worked to support its natural inclination, allowing to obtain wines with unique organoleptic characteristics.

Quality

Identify, protect and value the quality of the wine. This is Cantina Moscone’s mission. A winery that strives to highlight the nuances and particular characteristics of all the wines it produces. This pursuit is supported by an important collaboration with an outstanding enologist: Donato Lanati. He is a highly esteemed and world-renowned consultant on account of his scientific approach to the search for perfection in the quality of wine production.

Our bottles are packed in carton boxes designed by Moscone Winery Team in order to protect products and enhance the simplicity of the brand. Each carton contains 6 or 12 bottles.

Company Profile

In 1877, the Moscone family started up a wine-producing business in Monforte d’Alba, exploiting the exceptional quality of the soil and the grapes found in the Langhe region. The company is now in its 4th generation and is working on creating a combination of classic and contemporary products. Over the years and thanks to the family’s dedication, the business proved so successful that it allowed heirs Giacinto and Livio, together with Livio’s wife Luciana and their daughter Sara, to inherit a real treasure, one to nurture and share with passion. The Moscone family owns several hectares of land in the hills of Monforte d’Alba, particularly in Bussia, an area especially renowned for the production of wine thanks to its exposure and the outstanding fertility of the soil. It is here that the most important Piedmontese wines, known and loved worldwide, are produced.
