Still Red Wine from Italy
The box format of Luvit & Lumoe’s Italian wine allows you to tap wine in the quantities needed for immediate consumption and to have at your disposal your favorite wine as fresh from the barrel.
Furthermore, this type of packaging eases the transportation and the preservation of the product even after its opening. This allows the customer to buy different types of wine without worrying
about leftover wine not being able to be stored for later use.
The total absence of glass is another important aspect of this packaging, as it allows for lower costs and facilitates the transport operations and the final disposal, not to mention the absence of the cap,
which is another crucial aspect to take into account.
Despite the benefits and convenience of the Bag in Box product, we must recognize that the strength of this new packaging are the quality and genuineness of the wine that Luvit & Lumoe' has been marketing for many years.

FAQ
What is the bag-in-box?
Bag in Box literally, Wine in cardboard is a packaging concept developed in the 1950s.
The bag-in-box is a disposable bag for the containment of wine generally silver or transparent that has welded a small black rotating plastic tap that opens by pressure and an outer packaging (in cardboard).
What is the main advantage of the bag-in-box?
1. The wines in this package have a long shelf life because they do not have contact with the air - even after opening. The result is no oxidation, so the wine can be drunk for at least 4 weeks without any loss of quality. Ideal for casual drinkers.
2. The bag-in-box packaging guarantees an optimal footprint for the shape and material. BiB provides a volumetric efficiency of up to 98%, while in bottles this value is much lower because glass, as packaging, occupies 40% of the product itself.
3. Its light weight and ease of transport make the BiB ideal companion for camping, sailing and hiking. They are suitable for any outdoor activity.
4. The outer packaging in renewable natural cellulose fiber can be recycled without problems on paper waste and is therefore environmentally friendly. The material is 100% recyclable and has an excellent CO2 balance.
5. Buy a bottle of wine on Saturday, and then reopen it to finish it in the following days, the wine has already oxidized. This is impossible with cardboard wine. (bag in box)
Where Can Wine in Boxes be used? Is it a product out of the door or can it also be used at home?
Every evening you can relax, without the problem of having a bottled wine that tastes oxidized after 2 days of being opened. Depending on what you like, you can have 2-3 wines open and drink whatever you want at the moment. Now a great red wine, sometimes a fruity white wine. What a joy when you lie down on the sofa next to the fireplace and choose one of the wines that you have opened in the bag in box.
At the next party with family or friends: why not bring a cardboard wine? It will certainly please the owner of the house. It does not have to be bottled, as you can simply fill a nice carafe. Wine in cardboard in three simple words: Functional, elegant and genuine!
For outdoor activities, the advantage of having a light, unbreakable, sturdy and easy to handle packaging play an important role. Whether in sailing, canoeing, skiing or cycling, hiking, you can take it to a picnic or camping - it's practical! And a pleasant wine completes the experience ...
What are the packaging differences between the bag-in-box and tetrapak?
The Bag-in-Box is a very different form of packaging from the Tetrapak. Wine in Tetrapak must be drunk immediately, because it comes into contact with oxygen, this process is called oxidation and changes the taste of the wine which becomes undrinkable a few days after opening.
The wine in the bag-in-box package has only the outside in cardboard while the inside is a polyethylene (PE) bag with a tap. Even after opening the air does not enter the bag, it contracts when the tap is opened, has a vancum effect in this way the wine does not come into contact with oxygen, in order to avoid rapid oxidation of the same.
Unlike the Tetrapak, the Bag-in-Box, in the separate collection of waste - paper and plastic - is 100% recyclable and is particularly sustainable in respect of the environment.
Is wine in cartons harmless to health? What happens with the plasticizers?
The concerns about the contamination of the hoses used are unfounded: The plastics used for the wine bottles are free of plasticizers and phenols. The pouch of our cardboard wine packs is made of PE plastic (polyethylene). Polyethylene does not contain plasticizers.
Polyethylene (PE) should not be confused with PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which is widely used for beverage bottles and may contain plasticizers. PET comes from the polyester family, while PE comes from the polyolefin family. It is therefore completely different from plastics.
How long can wine be kept in cartons once opened?
The wine pouch is airtight, meaning that during bagging, the wine flows without air into the pouch. The bag is used for pressure compensation so that no oxidation can occur. This is hygienic. No other wine, after opening, can keep its freshness for so long, while with the BIB you can open it and drink it a little at a time for a long time. Shelf life after opening: 4 weeks.
How long can the wine be kept in the bag?
Despite the long shelf life of open packages, the wine in the Bag in Box packaging is not made for long-term storage. Therefore the wines should be drunk within twelve months after bottling. A longer shelf life is instead for fruit juices and oils, which, as usual, have an expiration date printed on the box. Cold storage is useful and recommended. The BIB wine box is for wine drinkers and not for collectors!
Why is bag-in-box packaging less polluting than bottles?
Compared to bottles, the Bag in Box packaging has a better CO₂ balance. In fact, this aspect leads to a reduction in co2 emissions during transport. Compared to glass, both the bag and the cardboard are 100% recyclable. This is a very good and clean thing.
