Vanadium catalyst usually contains 5% ~ 10% vanadium pentoxide (V2O5), which is the main component with catalytic activity. In addition to vanadium pentoxide, the catalyst also contains potassium oxide (K2O) or sodium oxide (Na2O) as a cocatalyst to increase the activity of vanadium catalyst. Diatomite (mostly silicon dioxide) was used as a carrier to increase the surface area of the active component of the catalyst in contact with the gas. Some vanadium catalysts also contain substances such as tinoxide, antimony oxide, iron oxide and alumina
