100 pack of steel U-Pins for used with lighter-weight turf and grass reinforcement mesh. These economy ground anchor pegs are manufactured from 4mm diameter steel rebar material. These U-Pins are perfect to secure plastic turf reinforcement mesh to the ground. They are also ideal for fixing weed control fabrics and are handy on allotments to keep tunnels, cloches and anti bird netting secure.

Turf Reinforcement Mesh

1. Goods Description 
Turf Reinforcement Mesh is a recycled plastic mesh that reinforces grass that is prone to getting worn, becoming muddy or rutted by car wheels or excessive pedestrian walking. The plastic mesh is fixed onto the grass using metal pins. Within just a few weeks after installation, the grass should have grown through the plastic mesh apertures, hiding it from view. Turf reinforcement mesh works by creating a strong interlock between the plastic mesh filaments and the grass roots which intertwine into each other. This process gives extra support to the grass roots, and although car wheels might damage the sward, the roots are protected. The mesh works by spreading loads laterally, rather like a snow boots that spreads weight over a larger area. This helps to limit rutting.

1mx10m roll of black plastic grass reinforcement mesh for reinforcing grass to limit worn grass, muddy areas and rutting. With a 27mmx27mm mesh aperture, the mesh is pinned to the ground and allows the grass to grow through. This premium black plastic mesh helps the grass roots interlock with the mesh providing a reinforced surface that spreads the weight of pedestrian and vehicle traffic evenly, limiting wear and reducing rutting. 
 
The plastic grass reinforcing mesh is laid onto the grass and fixed in place using steel u-pins. As the grass grows through, the reinforced area will return to natural grass quickly and can be used as soon as the mesh has disappeared.

6. Installation Guidelines:

Turf reinforcement mesh can be installed all year round. If installed in the growing season (spring and summer in the UK), the reinforced grass can be used within just a few weeks providing the grass and mesh have entangled to form good thatch and the mesh is an invisible structure on the surface. We advise that the mesh should be fixed every 30cm-50cm using steel u-pins supplied by Ultimate One Ltd. Any areas of mesh that are still raised can simply be pinned down with additional pins. The grass can be mown as soon as it is through the mesh, but it is best to set mower blades slightly high in case not all the mesh and pins are sitting flush with the ground. If installed in the Autumn and winter, the area being reinforced needs leaving until a thick grass growth covers the mesh, otherwise the mesh will not perform as intended.
