Product Details
Spring Steel 1566 (also called Cutting tool steel) has high strength and certain flexibility and plasticity after heat treatment and cold drawing hardening. Under the same surface state and completely quenched condition, the fatigue limit is comparable to that of multicolored alloy spring. But the hardenability is very poor.

Heat Treatment Process

Quenching 830℃±20℃, oil cooling; Tempering 540℃±50℃(special needs,±30℃).
Critical temperature (approximate) Ac1=726℃, Ac3=765℃, Ar3=741℃, Ar1=689℃, Ms=270℃.
Normalizing specification: Temperature 810±10℃, air cooled.
Quenching, tempering specification: quenching temperature 830±10℃, oil cooling;
Tempering temperature 540℃±10℃, water, oil cooling.

Product Application
Spring steel, the final heat treatment for quenching, tempering. The steel has higher strength, greater hardenability, small decarbonization tendency, but it is sensitive to overheating, easy to appear quenching cracks, and temper quenching. In the annealing state, the cutting machinability is good, the weldability is good, the cold deformation plasticity is low, the strip can be processed by general bending forming.
