Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) is a nontoxic and tasteless white flocculent powder with stable performance and is easy to dissolve in water. Its aqueous solution is a neutral or alkaline transparent viscous liquid, soluble in other water-soluble adhesives and resins, and insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. CMC can be used as binder, thickener, suspending agent, emulsifier,dispersant, stabilizer, sizing agent, etc.

Application:
1. CMC can be used as paper smoothing agent and sizing agent in paper industry;2. CMC can be used in ceramic industry as adhesive, plasticizer, suspending agent and fixing agent;
3. CMC is used in textile, printing and dyeing industry,as sizing agent in textile industry for light yarn of cotton;silk wool, chemical fiber and blended fabric;
4. Daily chemicals such as glycerin aqueous solution of CMC in toothpaste industry are used as gum base of toothpaste; as thickener and emulsifier
5. For the food industry, the food industry uses high replacement CMC as ice cream, canned food, thickening agent for instant noodles, foam stabilizer for beer and so on. In processing jam, syrup, fruit syrup, dim sum, ice cream drinks, etc., it is used as thickener, binder or agent.
