Hydraulic mooring winches is a windlass that mainly relies on hydraulic devices to perform and control actions. Hydraulic windlass is also called electro-hydraulic windlass because its hydraulic energy comes from an oil pump device driven by an electric motor.
For large ships with a high degree of automation, the use of hydraulic windlasses is more beneficial to the economy and reliability of the ships.
