Our Si3N4-SiC lining bricks have properties of penetration resistance to liquid aluminum, and corrosion resistance to fluoride, electrolyte, and fused sodium salt. Thickness of the working liner can be reduced by using Si3N4-SiC lining bricks so that capacity of the bath is enlarged accordingly. On the other hand using this kind of liner may enhance thermal conductivity and electric current density, and form a protecting layer of consolute alumina - cryolite on the surface of bricks. In this way service life of electrolytic bath is extended obviously.
