Brief Introduction
Phosphor copper solder has good fluidity. Adding silver to phosphor copper brazing filler metal can improve wetting strength and toughness and reduce melting point. Phosphor copper brazing filler metal is widely used in air conditioning and refrigeration industry, motor/electric appliance/instrument manufacturing industry, etc.
Phosphor copper brazing filler metal is suitable for brazing copper and brass, but not for brazing ferrous metals. Phosphorus in phosphorus copper brazing filler metal can reduce copper oxide and silver oxide and act as brazing filler metal. Therefore, brazing filler metal can braze copper and silver without brazing filler metal. However, when brazing copper alloy, phosphorus cannot fully reduce oxides formed by alloy elements of original copper. In order to obtain high-quality fiber joints, it should be used in combination with brazing filler metal.
Before brazing, grease, oxides and the like on the surface of the brazing metal must be strictly removed, and the best clearance of the brazing joint is 0.03-0.075 mm. During brazing, the heating speed should be as fast as possible to avoid segregation of phosphor copper solder due to slow heating process. After brazing, the color is bright gray, which will restore the color of copper when immersed in 10% sulfuric acid.
