Plate SA516 gr. 70 has excellent notch toughness and is used in both pressure vessels and industrial boilers. Generally As Rolled is ok for rolling Plate SA516 gr. 70. However, in order to improve Plate SA516 gr. 70 property and toughness, it is suggested to do normalizing for Plate SA516 gr. 70s especially for the plates above 40mm thick. NACE MR-0175 Plate SA516 gr. 70 is also offered by BBN steel with HIC test and SSC test.
