Rikulau Hercules Premium Grade Steel
Released in 2013, Rikulau Hercules steel tubeset is the newest addition to the Rikulau family. The raw material is from the renowned Nippon Steel (Japan). But, precision extrusion, heat treatment and all other processes are done in Taiwan to assure the precision required by Rikulau. The new tubeset belongs to the 4130 CrMo family, but it behaves very differently from its close relatives. And, the frame built with it is, of course, beyond comparison.

The stringent quality requirements of titanium have resulted in our insistence on the precision and attitude with which all of our frames are made. Our experience with titanium has also helped us when working with other materials such as aerospace quality stainless steel. Behind every Rikulau frame is nearly two decades of frame building art, expertise, and experience, all shaped by the best frame builders in Taiwan.
We also give the same level of love and detail to our surface graphics. In addition to paint in any color you can think of, we can apply techniques such as sandblasting, anodizing, and even laser etching in order to fulfill your vision.

Q1. What does Rikulau mean?
A1. Rikulau, or Formosan Clouded Leopard, is the sacred animal of the Rukai people (a Taiwanese aboriginal tribe). Rikulau is the biggest feline animal in the island of Taiwan and moves like wind in the deepest forests of the mountainous island. Its agility, speed, and style provide the inspiration for the design of all of our products.
