Instrument Cable and Thermocouple Cable in IS/OS Pairs and Triads
Instrument cable minimizes noise and signal interference, delivering clean signals in harsh environments and general manufacturing operations. Instrument cable has a maximum conductor temperature of 90°C and a low temperature rating of -40°C. The cable jacket is resistant to sunlight, moisture and vapour penetration. Instrumentation cable is available in individually shielded pairs or triads with an overall shield construction. It is also available in aluminum or steel interlocked armour, in 300V and 600V.
Thermocouple wire is often used in conjunction with Instrumentation cable. It connects a thermocouple, a sensor for measuring temperature, to the sensing or control instrumentation. The conditions of measurement, including temperature range, environment, response, and service life, determine the type of thermocouple wire to be used in a specific application.
Instrument Cable Applications
Instrumentation cable has a broad range of uses, particularly in the petrochemical, pulp, paper and sawmill, and other process industries. Designed for both wet and dry locations, it is resistant to mechanical damage and corrosive chemicals, and it is often employed in raceways, direct burial and control applications.
