Introduction
Carbomer polymer(synonym: Carpobol/Carbopol)
chemical name: Carboxypolymethylene.
Usage: It is high molecular weight cross-linked polymer.is a generic name for synthetic high molecular weight polymers of acrylic acid used as thickening,dispersing,suspending and emulsifying agents in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.they may be homopolymers of acryli acid, carbomers as white and fluffy powders .they have the ability to absorb,retain water and swell to many times their original volume.Carbomers codes(934,940,941and 1342) are an indication of molecular weight and the specific components of the polymer.
Application
Excellent thickening effciency at high viscosity and sparking clear transparency is possible in a aqueouds or hydrolcpholic solutions.Suitable for use in cosmetics and reagent etc.Used in pharmaceutical gels and ointment,Tooth paste ,shampoos,cleansing cream,skin and moisturzing creams,Shaving and sunscreen creams,after shave lotions.
