Each RFID Animal Tag has a rfid microchip with an unique ID. You can link related information like different herds,sex of the animal or year of birth for identification.
Reading equipment mounted on the feeding troughs will pick up that signal when the cattle comes to feed, with a computer keeping track of the amount of time that elapses until the signal is lost when the cattle leaves. In this way, the system can keep track of which cattles are eating regularly, and that they're getting enough to eat when they do.
