Q: | What is linear accuracy of Pressure Sensors? |
A: | Linear accuracy, expressed as a percentage of full scale, is the amount of deviation from the rated values for output current (4 mA and 20 mA) or voltage (1 V and 5 V) when zero pressure and the rated pressure are applied at a constant temperature of 23°C. |
Q: | If a negative pressure is applied to a positive pressure sensor, may the sensor fail to operate properly? |
A: | If an absolute value of pressure is above a withstanding pressure, the sensor may be damaged. |
Q: | What is positive and negative gauge pressure? |
A: | Gauge pressure is the amount of pressure expressed in terms of atmospheric pressure. It is referred to as "positive pressure" when it is greater than one atmosphere, and "negative pressure" when it is less than one atmosphere. |
Q: | What is atmospheric pressure? |
A: | Atmospheric pressure is the pressure of the atmosphere. Standard Atmospheric pressure (1 atm) is equivalent to a pressure of 760 mm-Hg expressed by a height of 760 mm on a mercury barometer. |
Q: | Can chemical or gases that cause corrosion be measured? |
A: | Basically, stainless steel materials such as SUS316L or SUS630 are used in the connecting parts of pressure ports of VALCOM sensors. Measurement is possible as long as your media to be measured do not corrode these materials. |
