RBS1006X2 acts like a normally open switch which chatters closed and open as it is tilted or vibrated. Note that the RBS1006X2 is not guaranteed to be open --- occasionally the sensing mechanism may remain close when at rest.
The engineer should design his or her software to look for high-to-low and low-to-high edge transitions rather than an open or closed state of the switch.

Roll Ball Sensor Switch
Roll Ball Sensor Switch operates using the same theory as any other mechanical switches: the turning on and off action is activated whenever the metal part of a switch is touched. As for the Roll Ball Switches, a tiny ball in the switch rolls when motion is detected, triggering a contact of metal terminals or an alteration of a light path. This will generate the conductive or non-conductive status.
