The extensive family of the moscato variety includes both red and white grapes. The name seems to derive from muscum or musk, a scent typical of this grape. The grapes for our Moscato Monticelli are of the white muscat, or moscato di Canelli, grown in the heart of the classic area.
After gentle pressing of the clusters, the must undergoes fermentation with cultured yeasts and becomes effervescent afterwards in pressurised fermenters.
