ZBW Prefabricated Substation is also called European type transformer. It confirms to the GB17467-1998 HV/LV Pre-installed substation and IEC 1330 standard etc. As a new kind of power distribution unit , it has many advantages compared to the traditional civil substation. Because of its small volume, it covers a small area. And it is also easy to remove due to the compact structure. Therefore the construction period and the occupied area are greatly shortened and the construction cost is reduced. Meanwhile, the substation has the characteristics of easy installation, quick power supply, simple maintenance, and unattended operation. Especially, it can get deep into the load center and it’s very important to improve the quality of power supply and reduce loss of electric energy, enhancing the reliability of power supply and distribution network transformation. The prefabricated substation can complete the transformation, distribution, transmission, measurement, compensation of electrical energy, system control and protection as well as communication functions.
The ZBW European-style prefabricated substation, is made up of the high-voltage switchgear, low-voltage power distribution panel, distribution transformer and shell. The high-voltage switchgear comprises air load switch and the transformer is dry-type or oil immersed transformer. The cabinet body adopts good ventilation structure with elegant appearance and good heat-insulating performance. The temperature rise of the transformer room and the HV/IV rooms caused by the outdoor solar radiation can be reduced to within the lowest limits on account of the upper and lower ventilation pipes. The forced ventilation device and the temperature auto-controlled device should be installed in the cabinet. The systems of control, protect, display and the lighting that installed in every unit will be complete.

1. Application
The type of transformers are applicable to 35KV and below, the small unattended substation, with main interior capacity of 5000KVA and below, is widely used in urban industrial substation, 10KV switch stations, ring network system, rural power grid 35KV substation and other occasions.
2. Main Function
To complete the conversion, distribution, transmission, measuring, compensation and the system control of the electrical energy, meanwhile, realizing the functions of protection and communication.
3. Main Characters
The preliminary and secondary equipments are pre-installed in the cabinet which is removable, whole-sealed, temperature automatic controlled, antiseptic, damp proof and rustproof, it only needs to be installed on the cement basis after arriving at the scene.
This kind of transformers have the advantages of low investment, short construction period, small floor space and easy
environmental coordination.
4. Notes to the ordering of the Europe Prefabricated Substation
1. High voltage
Way of incoming line: terminal type, looped network type or double power in.
With the high pressure measurement or not. The position of the measurement(front of the switch or behind the switch), the requirement of the meter gauge and its supplier.
Type of the HV switch, one way is using the high voltage vacuum load switch and the fuse-combination unit which is the mainly used and its price is more economical; the other is adopting the disconnector switch and the vacuum breaker which is used in the high capacity transformer with higher price.
2. Transformer
the transformer type, serial-number, the connection symbol group, capacity and the impedance voltage of the transformer.
3. Low voltage
Grade of the switch(Supplier).
The number of the outlet and the rated current value of every outlet switch.
