1.Rough measurement: spectrum analysis
Double-click “spectrum analysis” to enter the spectrum analysis measurement mode, until hearing the clear sound effect. Put the probe on the pavement below the pipelines which needs to be detected, and long press the handle switch of connecting wire, finish the measurement of one point and then lose the handle switch. Press the switch to inspect every one meter along the pipelines. When it is next to the lead source, there will be a sound in the earphones. If the volume increases, the whole spectrum on the instrument’s screen will increase. If it is more close to the leak source, the reaction is more obvious. So this place can be temporarily thought as a leak source.
2.Accurate measurement: filtering analysis
There are eight options on the screen, each option has a different frequency band according to the situation of actual measurement field, and choose corresponding frequency band to measure according to the situation of actual measurement field.
Matters needing attention
1. It is forbidden to put the sensor probe in water.
2. The sensor probe shall be handled gently.
3. The measurement shall be conducted under a circumstance that there is a smaller environmental disturbance, and it would be best to conduct at midnight.
4. If the instrument isn’t used for a long time, it should be charged every month.
5. If the measurement is conducted in soft soil, the sensor should be connected to the sound pole and insert into the soil so as to get the best effect.
