Oil field full opening Drill Pipe Safety Valve FOSV
Full Opening Safety valve (FOSv) is a ball type safety valve used to stop flow throughthe drill string when the drill string is being withdrawnfrom the well.
FOSv is a dual body full-opening safety valve, that does not interferewith the running of tools such as core barrelsor survey instruments. It is designed to be stabbed into the top joint of drill pipe or tubing stringat the rig floor and closedquickly in case a well kicks.
The ball-type designpermits the valve to be compact, easy to handle,and have great strength.Standard test pressureis 10,000 psi, but higher pressure ratings are available.
FOSv and operating wrench be should bemaintained on the rigfloor at all times.
