NERs Neutral Grounding Resistors NGR For Transformers：
The neutral point grounding resistor for transformer is widely used in the secondary transformer and neutral point of generator stator side. After connecting a resistor on the neutral point (or use grounding transformer to lead to the neutral point) of the equipment in series, the intermittent released arc light pass through the electromagnetic energy in voltage, then the electric potential of the neutral point reduced, and the recovery speed of the faulty phase will also slow down, thus reducing the possibility of arc reignition, suppressing the amplitude of power grid over-voltage, and enable the selective ground protection can be realized.
It is mainly used for power under 110kV and consist of cable lines, single-phase ground fault power transmission and distribution system with large capacitance and power system used by power plant to prevent resonant overvoltage although the capacitor current is small.
According to different capacitor currents, it can be divided into high resistance grounding and low resistance grounding. At present, neutral point grounding resistor is widely used in urban distribution networks, large industrial parks, power plants, offshore platform distribution systems, large chemical companies etc.
