.Use special host tools to host graphite electrode. It is forbidden to pry electrode up with crowbar. Handle with careduring transportation to avoid damage.
.Graphite electrode must be protected from moisture, rain, snow or water. It must be dried in the furnace before use. The
drying temperature in the furnace shall be less than 100℃. The drying period shall be no less than 48 hours.
.Do not store near clay, slag, etc. to avoid surface contamination and increase resistivity.
.Before connection, check carefully to ensure that the socket thread and threaded joint are not damaged, and the pitch plug of threaded joint has been inserted. Do not damage the nipple screw during lifting.
.Blow the nipple and socket threads with compressed air.
.Graphite electrode must be connected closely and straight. Use moment spanner to connect electrode with proper force. The gap between electrodes shall be less than 0.4 mm.
.The electrode must be firmly clamped by the clamping device with good contact and no arc. Otherwise, the connection area will turn red and thin due to oxidation, resulting in fracture.
.Threaded portion of nipple socket shall not be damaged during hoisting by metal plug. Hoisting plug shall be screwed out and the nipple socket shall be kept clean.
.The electrode lifting device must move smoothly. After repair, check the position of the furnace cover carefully. Seal the cover with refractory material to prevent the upper electrode from being oxidized by fire.
.The holding device of electrode shall hold the electrode beyond the socket area.
When charging, the large scrap should be placed at the bottom of the furnace, the small scrap should be placed at the top. The charge with low conductivity should not be placed at the top. During the melting process, the unmelted material should be removed in time to prevent the electrode from breaking by falling material.
