Mullite Lightweight (Insulating) Castable
Castable mixture made of light refractory aggregate and powder, binder and admixture is called light refractory castable. Because of the small volume density and low thermal conductivity of light castable, it is also called heat insulation refractory castable.
Application
Lightweight refractory castables are widely used in the lining of cellar furnaces, thermal equipment, flue and smoke windows in industrial sectors such as metallurgy, machinery, petrochemical, electric power and building materials. lightweight refractory castables are generally used as heat insulation (insulation) layers. However, with the improvement of light refractory castable material and the progress of preparation technology, there are many occasions that are directly used as the working lining of atmosphere furnace cellar and do not directly contact with flame. Most of the high temperature lightweight castables are directly used as working liners without contact with furnace solution or solid medium. In particular, it can be used as the working lining of various heating furnaces and heat treatment furnaces, which can greatly save energy consumption.
