A: Retort also named autoclave, and it is designed for the thermal processing (sterilization) of various non-acid foods which are packed metal cans, glass jars, plastic bottles, pouch, cups or trays etc. in order to extend their shelf life. Its heating medium is directly steam or electricity.

Q2: What is the sterilization temperature?

A: Generally it is 121 degree centigrade, but the actual temperature required is determined by the products and your requirements on final products like taste, color etc..
