Application: The Marsh funnel viscometer is used to determine the relative viscosity of mud (compared with water) on a daily basis. It has a simple structure and easy operation, reflecting the effective viscosity under certain conditions. The greater funnel viscosity (seconds), the greater viscosity of the mud. Generally, the mud flows out in a laminar flow or structured state, and it has a reasonable response to the changes in the viscosity and consistency of the mud.The Marsh funnel viscometer is manufactured according to the American API standard.
Technical Parameters:
(1) Marsh funnel: the diameter of the upper mouth of the cone is 152mm, and the diameter of the lower mouth of the cone is 4.76mm and the length is 50.8mm. The length of the cone is 305mm, and the total length of the funnel is 356mm.
(2) The aperture of the screen is (1.6mm) 12 mesh
(3) The following volume of the filter: 1500ml
(4)Standard measuring cup: 946ml
How to use Markov funnel viscometer:
(1) Hold the funnel in an upright position, place the filter on the top of the funnel, and block the outlet of the diversion tube with your index finger.
(2) Take the tested mud sample and inject it into the funnel cone through the filter screen until the level of the mud reaches the bottom surface of the screen (it is just 1500ml at this time)
(3) Prepare the stopwatch, release the index finger, and press the stopwatch to record the time until the 946ml standard measuring cup is full. Record the number of seconds that the mud flows out, and record the result of the funnel viscosity in seconds.
