Sprocket is a wheel with inlaid chain teeth, used to engage with a block with an accurate pitch on a pitch chain or cable: a solid or spoke gear that engages with a chain to transmit motion.Our factory mainly product all kind of large nonstandard sprockets according to customer’s drawing and requirements. Sprocket material should ensure that the teeth have enough strength and wear resistance, so the tooth generally do the surface quenching to improve the hardness.

Technological Process

42CrMo,C45 or other ally steel will be used as raw material according to the customer’s requirements through forging or casting method. Ultrasonic inspection will be done to ensure the material are free of pore,holes and cracks. Measuring the size of the forging,calculation the processing allowance and accurate to estimate the cutting times in the turning process.

Rough turning according to the processing drawing.

Heat treatment will be done after rough turning to improve the physical property of the material.

The tooth and frame of the sprocket are processed on the CNC gantry milling machine, which can ensure the precision of the product. The mounting holes will be drilled at the same time.After the finish machining, the dimension will be inspected strictly according to the drawing,to ensure all the dimension is satisfied with the drawing requirements.

Surface quenching will be done after finish machining to improve the hardness and abrasive resistance. after the surface quenching, we will inspect the hardness of the sprocket.
