Ginseng saponins contain 20-30% more than those found in foreign ginseng, making it very different from other types of ginseng. It also contains more triol-based saponins than foreign ginseng, which are effective in reducing fatigue and stress, improving sexual function, and protecting against radiation.
As a healthy component comparable to saponin, acidic polysaccharides have recently been attracting attention. Korean ginseng contains a larger amount of acidic polysaccharides than foreign ginseng. Saponin is generally toxic, such as hemolysis, if ingested in large amounts, but there are no side effects to Korean ginseng even when taken for a long time because the saponin it contains is non-toxic.
Ginseng saponins vary in thickness and size and are found in the following parts of ginseng: about 5% in the body, about 6% in the big fine root, and about 13% in the small fine root.
