1.Type J (iron–constantan) has a more restricted range than type K (−40 to +750 °C), but higher sensitivity of about 55 µV/°C.[2] The Curie point of the iron (770 °C)[8] causes an abrupt change in the characteristic, which determines the upper temperature limit.
2. The type J is also very common. It has a smaller temperature range and a shorter lifespan at higher temperatures than the Type K. It is equivalent to the Type K in terms of expense and reliability.
3.Thermocouples are widely used in science and industry; applications include temperature measurement for kilns,gas turbine exhaust, diesel engines, and other industrial processes.
