Odorless, tasteless, non-toxic white crystals. Melting point 71℃, boiling point 265℃, insoluble in water and dilute alkali, soluble in benzene, toluene, ethanol, gasoline and food oil. Its solubility is: ethanol 25%, soybean oil 30%, cottonseed oil 20%, lard 40%.
BHT is an antioxidant with a wide range of industrial uses. It is mainly used in the field of food fats to increase the shelf life of fats.
