Gas Cutting Processing is allowed. Applying high pressure gas and low cutting speed to prevent split in cutting area. When cutting outside, preheating temperature 60 -90℃ in cutting area with flame spraying gun be recommended before the cutting.

Hot-forming Characteristics of NM400 Wear Resistant Steel
Hot-forming property of the plate performs well, the temperature of hot working should be less than 350℃. If the processing temperature of plate is more than transformation temperature (i.e. over AC) , low temperature tempering is necessary after hot working of the plate, tempering temperature is 250 - 350℃ (contrast with Sweden DILLIOUR400V steel, hot forming temperature increase by 150℃ )

Abrasive resistant alloy steel plates generally offer good resistance to sliding and impact abrasion. The high carbon content in the alloy increases the hardness and toughness of the steel, making it an ideal material for applications that require high impact or high abrasion resistance. It is possible to get high hardness with a high carbon steel, and the steel will have good resistance to penetration. However, the wear rate will be rapid compared to heat treated alloy plate because high carbon steel is brittle, so particles can be more easily torn from the surface. As a result, high carbon steels are not used for high wear applications.
